Katie Swaine, a sophomore goalkeeper on the Lady Statesmen Soccer team, captures her second GoStatesmen.com Female Athlete of the Week after posting a career weekend in goal, as Delta State dropped a pair of games on the road in Gulf South Conference play.
The Loveland, Ohio native recorded a combined 24 saves, including a career-high 14 saves in DSU's 5-0 loss to Lee University. Swaine also notched 10 saves in a 3-1 loss at Shorter. Over the two games, the 5-foot-5 sophomore faced 32 shots on goal.
Swaine and the Lady Statesmen welcome in a pair of GSC foes this week, as West Florida and Spring Hill travel to Delta Field on Friday and Sunday respectively.
