VALDOSTA, GA. – The Delta State University golf team currently sits in 15th place after the first round of play at the Kinderlou Classic hosted by Valdosta State.
The Swinging Statesmen posted a first round total of 314, 23 shots behind leaders Florida Southern College and host school and fellow Gulf South Conference foe Valdosta State who are tied for first place after tallying a first round total of 291.
The Statesmen were led by senior
Jordan Breaux and junior
Chase Smith who both carded a (77) and are tied for 44th spot.
Austin Smithers and
Collin McCrary also posted first round scores of (80), with
Seth McBrayer rounding out the scoring for the Statesmen with (81).
The Statesmen will be in action again tomorrow morning with a starting tee time set for 8:30 am (EST).
