DAY 1 RESULTS
GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Delta State University men's golf team shot a three-under, 285 and are tied for fourth through 36 holes at the Bearcat Classic on Monday at the at the par 72, 6,800-yard Greenwood Country Club.
The Statesmen shot a four-over, 292 to stand in 10
th place after the first round before moving up six spots into a tie for fourth with Newberry with a one-over, 577 36-hole total.
Zach Zediker is tied for ninth with a two-under, 142 and is five strokes off the lead. The Panama, City, Fla., native was tied for second with a four-under, 68 to open the day before shooting a two-over, 74 in second round.
After a one-over, 73,
Zach Smith carded a one-under 71 and is tied for 16
th with an even, par 144.
John-Crawford Counts rebounded from a three-over, 75, to shoot a two-under 70, entering the final round tied for 24 with a one-over, 145.
Wyatt Berry shot a five-over, 77 before fighting back to shoot a two-under, 70 to stand tied for 40
th with a thee-over, 147.
Sutthinun Sinsuntites shot a four-over, 76 and and seven-over, 79 and is tied for 87 with a 155.
Clayton State shot a 13-under, 563 to hold a one stroke lead over No. 11 Lincoln Memorial, which shot a 12-under 564.
Tournament host Lander University is in third with an even-par, 576 followed by Delta State and Newberry.
DSU and Newberry are one stroke ahead of sixth place Georgia Southwestern with a two-over, 578 followed by Lenoir-Rhyne (584) in seventh and Belmont Abbey and Mount Oliver (585) in eighth.
Lincoln Memorial's Dan Bradbury fired a seven-under, 137 to hold the individual lead by two strokes over Clayton State's Andres Caballero and Nick Wolf, who shot a five-under, 239.
The Statesmen are scheduled to tee off the final round on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
