Zediker Named GCAA Ping All-American

CLEVELAND, Miss. -- Delta State University men's golfer Zach Zediker was named to the Ping All-American Second-Team released by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Thursday. 

The Panama City, Fla., caps a banner year with his second straight All-American selection, earning Ping Third-Team All-American honors in 2017-18. Additionally, Zediker was selected to the GSC All-Academic Team and earned his way on to the GSC Spring Academic Honor Roll. 

"I'm ecstatic for Zach to get both 2nd team All-American and GSC All Academic Team," Delta State Head Coach Easton Key said. "It is a testament to the emphasis he puts on not only playing golf but also in the classroom. He deserves both of these achievements with the hard work he's put in. Zach represents the hard work all our players have been putting in on the course and in the classroom and I'm very proud of his accomplishments."

In 2018-19, Zediker captured his second consecutive GSC Men's Golf Individual title and GSC Golf of the Year and finished ranked No. 7 in the GolfStat Division II Player rankings. He went on to post a seventh-place finish at the NCAA South/Southeast regional, missing the NCAA National Tournament cut by three strokes. The GSC Individual title was his fourth tournament win this season and his sixth top-five finish, adding wins at the Murray State, Henderson State and the Delta State Derrall Foreman tournaments. Zediker posted third-place finishes at the Argonaut Invitational and Buccaneer Invitational. The junior posted 22 rounds of par or better out 26 rounds and recorded 12 rounds in the 60s with a low round of 65 at the Murray State Invitational.

Zediker who finished the season. 70.04 scoring average and posted a 715-25 head to head record over 10 tournaments, was also named GSC Golf of the Year, Ping First-Team All-South Region, First-Team All-GSC, and GSC All-Tournament.
