UNG INVITATIONAL FINAL

GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- The Delta State University men's golf team shot a five-over-294 to claim ninth place at the UNG Invitational at the Chattahoochee Golf Club on Tues., Oct. 27, 2020.

Landon Carner finished the tournament with a three-under 213 to sit in a tie for 17th, while Landon Cottrell tied for 22nd with a two-under-214 as the low Statesmen.

• Carner's three-under-69 was his second lowest round of the season and his 139 was his lowest 36-hole first day total of the year.
• Willie Hammond carded the lowest round of the day with a one-under-71 to finish tied for 63rd with teammate Mitchell Fifer, who shot a 10-over-224.
• Landon Cottrell had the second lowest round of the day with an even-par-72 to tie for 22nd with a two-under-214.
• Carner's three-under-213 and Cottrell's two-under-214 were their second lowest 54-holes of the season.
• Carner finished fourth in par four scoring with a 3.87 average.
• Statesmen Jake Kight recorded one of the 16 eagles made during the 54-hole event.
• Carner recorded 38 pars over the 54-holes to finished tied for fifth.
• Cottrell played the par three holes at even-par 3.00 to finish the tournament tied for fourth.
• USC Aiken set a UNG Invitational 18-hole team record with 15-under-273.
• Matthew Leemann of Piedmont was the tournament's low medalist with a 12-under-204.

• The UNG Invitational concluded the fall schedule for the Statesmen, who will return to play in February at a date to be announced.
