Lady Statesmen Capture Two Titles on First Night of NSISC Championships

RESULTS NIGHT 1

CLEVELAND, Miss. --
  The Delta State University women's swimming and diving team captured two event titles and trail the University of West Florida by just 36 points after night one of the New South Intercollegiate Swimming Conference Championships.

  • LADY STATESMEN: 251 points, 2nd place

INSIDE THE ROPES
  • Victoria Brady took gold in the women's 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:15:37.
  • Michael Maly also brought home gold in the men's 1000 freestyle finishing in 9:18:82.
  • Chelsea Borrowdale placed second in the women's 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:02:51.
  • Matey Razashki won gold in the men's 200 IM finishing in a time of 1:48:65, while Emanuel Fava placed second with a time of 1:49:87.
  • Lucia Martelli placed second in the women's 50 freestyle, finishing with a time of 23:53.
  • The men's 50 freestyle was won by Giulio Brugnoni with a time of 20:01.
  • The Delta State women's 200 medley relay team grabbed the gold with a time of 1:42:79.
  • The men's 200 medley relay team captured the win and set the NSISC record with a time of 1:27:65.
ON THE BOARDS
  • Gillian Pratt came in second in the three meter diving competition with a score of 463.30. That mark is a new school record, besting Hailey Leonard's 463.05 set in 2017.
