GENEVA, Ohio. -- The Delta State University Lady Statesmen swim team got a pair of Top 25 finishes and sit in 21st place overall, with 10 points, after the first night of competition on Wednesday.
Lucia Martelli and
Chelsea Borrowdale each had top 25 finishes in their respective races, and the 200 yard medley relay team came in 12th place in a time of 1:42:45 to capture Honorable Mention All-American status.

INSIDE THE LANE LINES (PRELIMS)
- The first event of the day was the women's 200 individual medley, where Madison Lavoie swam a 2:06.23 to finish in 33rd overall.
- Chelsea Borrowdale swam the 200 IM in 2:04.75 to finish in 25th.
- Madelyn Byrd came in 47th in the women's 50 freestyle with a time of 24.16
- Lucia Martelli finished in 23rd in the 50 free with a time of 23.47.
- The women's 200 medley relay team of Byrd, Lavoie, Martelli, and Celeste Turner swam their preliminary race in 1:42.52, which was good enough to earn a spot in the consolation final.
- Peyton Osborn came in 40th in the women's 1000 free with a time of 10:32.90
INSIDE THE LANE LINES (FINALS)
- The women's 200 medley relay team came in 4th in the consolation final, finishing 12th overall, with a time of 1:42.45.
