FLORENCE, Ala. - The Delta State University women's cross country team, led for the second consecutive week by freshman
Bailey Pounds, grabbed a third place finish at the University of North Alabama Invitational 5K on Friday morning at McFarland Park in Florence, Ala.

ON THE COURSE
- Freshman Bailey Pounds led the Lady Statesmen for the second straight week, as she finished eighth overall in 21:42
- Abby Thomas was again DSU's second finisher, clocking a 22:50.21 to place 17th overall
- Senior Sydney Roberts closed the race strong as DSU's third scorer in 22:54.88 for 19th place, and led a group of five Lady Statesmen that finished one after the other
- Savannah Hudgins made it back-to-back weeks slashing time off her 5K, as she posted a 22:56.04 to finish 20th overall
- Kimberly Fruin posted a 23:30.18 5K as she finished 21st
- Hannah Pinter battled to a 23:34.99 and a 22nd place overall finish
- Senior Cayce Smith was the final Green and White runner to cross the line, as she finished 23rd in 25:08.30
- Cassidy Fitch did not compete due to injuryÂ
