BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- For the second straight day, a Delta State University Lady Statesmen swimmer claimed an individual NCAA National Championship. Celeste Turner won the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 1:58.29 which was seven-tenths of a second faster than second place.
That win was only the second individual title in school history on the women's team.

INSIDE THE ROPES
- The day began with Isabella Kelly swimming a 5:08.66 in the 500 yard free and coming in 33rd.
- Martina Rossetti finished as a Honorable Mention All-American coming in 15th place in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 55.97.
- Madison Lavoie came in 24th in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.41.
- Lucia Martelli earned All-American honors in the 200 yard butterfly coming in eighth with a time of 2:03.02.
- Turner won the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 1:58.29.
- The 800 free relay team of Kelly, Rossetti, Daniella Solkow, and Turner came in tenth with a time of 7:34.56 for a honorable mention All-American showing.
NOTABLES:
- Turner broke her own Delta State record of 1:59.55 in the 200 butterfly which she set in 2019.
