CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Delta State University Lady Statesmen swimming and diving team swept every event on Friday night at the NSISC Championships.
Two Lady Statesmen claimed their first NSISC titles on Friday evening, as
Jamie Glover won in the 500-yard freestyle and
Alexis Moon won the 100-yard breaststroke.
Madelyn Byrd tied for first in the 100-yard backstroke as Delta State closed the gap on first-place the University of West Florida.

INSIDE THE LANE LINES
- Jamie Glover captured her first NSISC Championship, winning the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:00.90.
- Madelyn Byrd tied for first place with UWF's Ester Rizetto in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.88. That time gave both swimmers an automatic birth into the NCAA Championships.
- Martina Rosetti came in third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.11.
- The 100-yard breaststroke had another first time winner with Alexis Moon claiming the title in 1:04.47.
- Celeste Turner defended her title in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:59.79. Byrd took home second place with a time of 2:03.65.
- The 800-yard freestyle relay team of Glover, Tristan Fant, Martina Rosetti, and Turner easily won by a margin of over eight seconds over UWF, racing to a 7:35.00.
