BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - After a fantastic week at the plate in the sweeps of West Georgia and Arkansas Monticello,
Chrissy Tubbs was honored as the Player of the Week in the Gulf South Conference, as announced by the league on Tuesday, March 22.
In the five games last week, she was 9-for-17 from the plate for a batting average of .529. She had 12 RBI and 8 runs scored. She had a total of 22 bases with three home runs one triple, and two doubles. Her slugging was 1.294 for the week. She walked twice and did not strike out. Defensively she had 18 putouts and two assists.
In the first win over UWG, Tubbs was 3-for-4 from the plate with a double and a home run. In game two, she was 2-for-3 with another home run and three RBI. In the third game, she hit another home run and a double.
The Lady Statesmen go back on the road on Wednesday, March 23 with a doubleheader at Henderson State in Arkadelphia, Ark. starting at 2 p.m.
