CLEVELAND, Miss. – After two days at the Delta State Christmas Meet, the Delta State University Women's Swimming and Diving team are currently in second place in the team standings with a team score of 673.5
The University of West Florida is currently in the lead with at team score of 943.5.
Day One
In day one, the Lady Statesmen relay teams took second place in the 200-yard medley relay and the 800-yard freestyle relay.
The relay team of
Kaley Davis,
Pia Delkeskamp,
Zinna Nimander,
Ave Owens finished the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:41.31.
To finish the night, the 800-freestyle relay team of Owens,
Julia Santiago,
Hannah Murray, and Nimander finished their relay with a time of 7:33.44.
In the 1,000-yard freestyle,
Jessica Gannon finished in sixth place with a time of 10:35.00.
Day Two
The Lady Statesmen got three second place finishes in the 200-yard individual medley, the 50-yard freestyle, and the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Delkeskamp would get a second-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley as she swam the race in a time of 2:04.88.
Olivia Murphy would score 27.5 for the Lady Statesmen as she would tie for second in the 50-yard freestyle final with a 23.48 race.
The relay team of Davis, Murphy, Nimander, and Owens would be the third second place finish in day two with a time of 1:33.20 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Murray would finish sixth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:05.36
The Christmas meet will continue tomorrow and Tuesday as the preliminary races start at 10 a.m. and the Finals will be a 5 p.m. tomorrow at the Ronald G. Mayers Aquatics Center.
