CLEVELAND, Miss. – Former Delta State swimmer
Caroline Jouisse '19 will be representing France in the 2024 Olympics, as she will be swimming in the open water 10km. The women's open water 10k will take place on August 8, at 12:30 a.m.
Jouisse earned her spot in the 2024 games back in February, where she finished seventh in the World Aquatics Championships in Doha, Qatar with a 1:57:32.3 mark.
Jouisse has left her mark in the Delta State Swimming and Diving record books as she holds the record time in the 500-yard freestyle, 1,000-yard freestyle, and 1,650-yard freestyle.
As a Lady Statesman, Jouisse was a two-time first team all-American in the 1,000 freestyle, 500 freestyle, and the 1650 freestyle. Jouisse also was a two-time honorable mention in the 800-freestyle relay. Jouisse was also a two-time College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) first team Scholar All-American earning the honors during her junior and senior year.
In the 2018-19 season, Jouisse had three podium finishes in the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving National Championships. Caroline earned the bronze medal in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:51.49. In the 1,000-yard freestyle, Jouisse got a fourth-place finish with a time of 9:56.63. The third event the Caroline earned first team all-American status in was the 1650-yard freestyle where she finished at the 16:50.94 mark.
During her sophomore season, Jouisse earned first team all-American honors, as she scored 48 points, along with three school record times for the Lady Statesmen in four events at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving National Championships. Those 48 points included three bronze medals in the 1000-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle, and the 1650-yard freestyle.
