CLEVELAND, Miss. — The Delta State University women's swim and dive program opened the 2025 Thanksgiving Invite with a powerful first night, scoring
147 points to sit
second overall after Thursday's timed finals at the Ronald G. Mayers Aquatics Center.
DSU's night was highlighted by a standout performance in the
200 Medley Relay, where DSU dominated the field, taking
first and second place. The A-relay of Kaley
Davis, Pia Delkeskamp, Zinna Nimander, and Olivia Murphy posted a pool and program record breaking
1:40.70, while the B-relay followed closely at
1:42.17, reinforcing the Lady Statesmen's depth across all four legs.
Freshman
Rhianna Foster also impressed individually, placing
fourth overall in the
1000 Freestyle, clocking
10:20.32, shaving more time off her seed and continuing to build early-season momentum. Teammates
Julia Maciak (10:39.05) and
Jessica Gannon (10:39.24) added valuable points with back-to-back placements inside the top 10.
In the
800 Freestyle Relay, the quartet of
Davis, Foster, Mikayla Kloth, and Kennedy Cleasant delivered a fast
7:35.14, securing a strong
second-place finish and keeping the Lady Statesmen firmly in the team race.
After a strong opening night, the Lady Statesmen look poised to challenge for the lead as the meet rolls into Friday's prelims and finals at the Ronald G. Mayers Aquatics Center. The prelims will start at 10:00 a.m. (CT).
